Visting TayTay

Well we are in Lubbock this weekend for my Graduation!! Yay!  Cooper, Shandy, and I decided to come up a little early (Thursday) and stay with Taylor.  It was a great idea because we have been relaxing and Cooper is loving it!  We took him to the pool yesterday, which by the way it was 99 degrees here, and he was not sure about it at first.  He finally warmed up to it and would stand on the first step.  He liked sitting on the side with his feet in much better but I kind of understand why he was apprehensive about getting in...the water was freezing!  After our pool trip, we came back and TayTay made burritos for us and a single Mac N Cheese for Cooper which she spilled all over the floor.  She wanted him to eat it off the floor but then made him another one....what a nice aunt!

Cooper got to watch cartoons with TayTay and Shandy this morning while I got my nails done and they informed me that he could speak martian!  I still have not heard it but supposedly one of his cartoons taught them how to speak martian....I don't know!  He really does get funnier every day with his new tricks and words!  I absolutely love this age!  We are headed out now to do a little shopping...hope Cooper enjoys this part of our visit!

Cord's Senior Pictures

So Cord had his Senior pictures done last week and of course I had to throw Cooper in some of them. He looks so cute in all of them I swear he should be a model! Cord's turned out good too so if anyone wants to check them out go to www.tinacarsonphotography.com and then "enter site", click on proofing, and the password is griffin.

Cooper has been staying with his grandparents all weekend and I am really starting to miss him!! Dayme and I were able to get some shopping done in Lubbock yesterday and then we headed over to Lamesa to see one of her friend's house. It was soooo cute and made me really ready for a house of my own to decorate and make cute! After I got back from Lubbock, I met Dane down at Bob Will's and it was an experience in itself! Fun for Dane and right up his alley!

Little Cowboys?!

Cooper got to ride his first horse this weekend! Cam's cows had gotten out so Dane, Cord, Yance and Cam saddled up to move them back to the field they were supposed to be in. (Missy, Cooper and I drove the pickup and blocked the road.) Well it all went very smoothly and so on the way back to the pickup Dane let Cooper ride with him on his horse! They rode about a mile and Cooper LOVED it! He could not stop smiling and waving at Missy and I. It was so cute and now all Cooper says is horsey! Dane was secretly hoping the cows would be out again on Sunday so they could all go ride again but they were still right where they were supposed to be. I guess Dane is liking the cowboy way up here!

So this weekend was a fun and exciting one for Dane and Cooper and yesterday was so nice we sat outside most of the afternoon and cooked out. Cooper got to play with our neighbor Kooper for a little bit and I am thinking it is about time to get Cooper a sand box. He did not want to leave Kooper's sand box!

And I signed my contract on Friday with Floydada and I will be teaching 6th grade reading. They separated English and reading so I will only be doing reading which I think will be good! Four classes of 6th grade reading and then helping out with 6th grade English for a period so I will hopefully have a pretty easy day if the kids are not too bad!

Bubble Bath and Rain!

Cooper had his first bubble bath tonight and he loved it! He kept trying to pick the bubbles up and hand them to me! He would get so excited and splash which of course made bubbles and water go everywhere. We had quite a mess going on in the bathroom.

We have had bath weather all afternoon and as soon as Dane got home, he and Cord had to turn back around and take a cow to the doctor. It is storming pretty good now and Cooper is already asleep (it is 7:45!) We are under a tornado watch so I hope it does not turn into anything more severe!! But it is raining so that is a good thing!

Haha! Taylor got those pants for Cooper! And I am pretty sure that was all that was clean!

So today was quite an eventful day! I got off to school and Cooper went with Dane and when we met back for lunch, Cooper and Dane's shoes were covered in mud. They had been fixing leaks so Dane was really busy. Dane had said he would be ok with Cooper until I got out of school but that was not the case and so without asking me he dropped Cooper off with Anna. Now if I had met Anna before and maybe Anna had a little warning that she would be keeping Cooper it probably would have been ok but he had never seen her so he cried and cried when Dane left him and cried so hard he threw up! Well I felt very bad about this so I left school early and went and got Cooper. It ended up kind of working out that Cooper went over there because I got to leave school and go play with Cooper! Anyway, by the time I picked him up, he loved Anna and her little girl and cried when I made him leave. So who knows, Anna could be one of Cooper's new babysitters and she was really nice!

So then after I gave Cooper a bath, we decided we better go buy groceries. Well I have about decided that going anywhere alone with Cooper at this age is going to be hard and eventful and it was. Everytime I turned around to grab something off of the shelf, he was standing in the seat of the basket! Then he would try to pull things off of the shelf if I got too close! And everytime I put something in the basket, he wanted a bite. He sounded like those birds on Finding Nemo saying bite, bite, bite every five seconds! So by the time I got in line to check out, Cooper had taken a bite of just about everything in our basket!

Then by the time we finally got home things calmed down and the boys played and watched tv while I did laundry. Honestly, I felt like the day would never end!

And Taylor, the Juevos Rancheros were so good! I really think David would like them! You just pile all of that stuff on the tortilla, then drizzle the sauce over it and top with cheese. You have to do this to every one so it takes a second but then after you have all done you stick them in the oven (on a cookie sheet) and let them cook for about 10 or 15 minutes so the cheese is good and melted and then just eat them with a fork. It was kind of a hard meal just because there is a lot going on but it was so good!

It's Official!

Well it is official. I will be teaching 6th grade English/Language Arts which I know nothing about! Hopefully I am smarter than a 6th grader when it comes to English but I don't know....I could not even remember what prepositional phrases were today when someone asked me for help on their English! Oh well, only a year and then maybe I can stay home and raise kids!! And that, by the way, is so much fun! Cooper and I had such a good day yesterday and we played and I got so much done around the house and now all I can do is pray next year when Dane takes him because who knows the kind of things they will get into!

I added this video of Cooper playing with a crate....it is so funny! (well we thought it was anyway!) And he played with it forever too......

And then his wheel came off of his dump truck and he knew exactly how to put it on....so smart!!

If you need an idea for supper, I got a new recipe at school today called Juevos Rancheros.....you will need: softened corn tortilla (soften in oil), refried beans, hash brown potatoes, hamburger meat, green chili enchilada sauce, egg cooked any way, and grated cheese. You stack all of this on your corn tortillas and then cook under broiler until cheese melts....I am trying this tonight for supper so hopefully it turns out good!

The "Real" Hunt

Easter weekend was so much fun and very exhausting. I think we went to bed at 8:45 last night and I did not even have school today! Cooper had a blast seeing eveyone and getting to entertain eveyone all weekend! Aunt Dayme brought Cooper some REAL, LIVE chickens! Cooper was a little skeptical at first but by Sunday was pretty interested in checking them out. I think Taylor loved them the most. She let them sleep beside her for two nights while they chirped and scratched. We ended up bringing two home which did survive the night and then Dane gave them to someone who could raise them and take care of them, Jose.

Our little family pic..

Cooper and the chicks....

What a beautiful family!!!

The easter egg hunt went okay but Cooper was very preoccupied with little chickens and people everywhere and it was extremely windy! I am talking gusts up to 60mph! So that part was not fun!
He was excited to eat the candy in the eggs but would not carry his basket around and Dane pretty much had to take the eggs to Cooper. But I will say throughout the entire day he was the cutest little boy. His outfit was perfect but got so dirty!

Dane taking Cooper more eggs...

And Cooper on the way home......
