It's Official!

Well it is official. I will be teaching 6th grade English/Language Arts which I know nothing about! Hopefully I am smarter than a 6th grader when it comes to English but I don't know....I could not even remember what prepositional phrases were today when someone asked me for help on their English! Oh well, only a year and then maybe I can stay home and raise kids!! And that, by the way, is so much fun! Cooper and I had such a good day yesterday and we played and I got so much done around the house and now all I can do is pray next year when Dane takes him because who knows the kind of things they will get into!

I added this video of Cooper playing with a crate....it is so funny! (well we thought it was anyway!) And he played with it forever too......

And then his wheel came off of his dump truck and he knew exactly how to put it on....so smart!!

If you need an idea for supper, I got a new recipe at school today called Juevos Rancheros.....you will need: softened corn tortilla (soften in oil), refried beans, hash brown potatoes, hamburger meat, green chili enchilada sauce, egg cooked any way, and grated cheese. You stack all of this on your corn tortillas and then cook under broiler until cheese melts....I am trying this tonight for supper so hopefully it turns out good!

The "Real" Hunt

Easter weekend was so much fun and very exhausting. I think we went to bed at 8:45 last night and I did not even have school today! Cooper had a blast seeing eveyone and getting to entertain eveyone all weekend! Aunt Dayme brought Cooper some REAL, LIVE chickens! Cooper was a little skeptical at first but by Sunday was pretty interested in checking them out. I think Taylor loved them the most. She let them sleep beside her for two nights while they chirped and scratched. We ended up bringing two home which did survive the night and then Dane gave them to someone who could raise them and take care of them, Jose.

Our little family pic..

Cooper and the chicks....

What a beautiful family!!!

The easter egg hunt went okay but Cooper was very preoccupied with little chickens and people everywhere and it was extremely windy! I am talking gusts up to 60mph! So that part was not fun!
He was excited to eat the candy in the eggs but would not carry his basket around and Dane pretty much had to take the eggs to Cooper. But I will say throughout the entire day he was the cutest little boy. His outfit was perfect but got so dirty!

"Practice Hunt"

The practice hunt went great! I had to show him where the eggs were but he picked them up and actually put them in his basket and carried his basket around to the next hidden egg! I was so proud of him! Of course now our house is a disaster with eggs everywhere. I had told Dane to pick up about 4 or 5 for him to practice with and he brought home a package of 46! Cooper won't leave them alone! He will really be excited when he finds candy in them on Sunday!

Dane also surprised me with an Easter present! He had gone to Amarillo and asked if there was anything that I needed and I jokingly said an Easter dress never dreaming he would actually get me something.....but he did! He got me the cutest white dress....I am still amazed that he could pull off such a thing! And after being stuck in a classroom all day learning about chemicals, he passed his test to spray and buy chemicals! (yay)

Uh Oh!

Yesterday, Cooper and Dane came in and I was busy cleaning the kitchen so I asked Dane to change Cooper's diaper. Well I thought Dane was changing Cooper's diaper but then I turned around and Dane was standing behind me. I asked where Cooper was and about that time I heard Cooper crying. I went into his room and he was standing on his bed, naked, in a wet spot! He had tee teed on the bed!!! And Dane had never put a diaper on him......I still don't know what he was thinking. Well I guess it kind of scared him that he was peeing on the bed so I ran him in the bathroom and he kept saying tee tee so I put him on his little toilet seat but he would not go so I thought maybe he was done but he was not.....he went all over the side of the bath tub and rug! It was quite an eventful 2 minutes! After his bath everything was back to normal, well as normal as can be expected and now we are about to practice hunting Easter eggs around the house. Hopefully by Sunday he will have a pretty good idea of how it all works!!

Finally Slowing Down......

Wow! What a crazy last couple of days! I have barely had time to catch my breath and don't worry, I even nodded off during my conference today! (Thank goodness no one saw)
It all started with me going to Floydada on Wednesday to interview for a job. The interview was very intense but went really good! Then as soon as I walked in the door I hear Cooper screaming. He had ridden his four wheeler off the front porch and flipped head first. Of course he has a huge scrape on his chin and nose! Poor thing but it will only make him tougher and now maybe daddy will think before sending our child off on a four wheeler to do tricks while he is on the phone!
Next thing, I got the job in Floydada! I will either be teaching 7th grade science or 6th grade english and reading. Either one will be great!! I am just soooo excited to have a job! They called on Friday and gave me the good news so looks like I will be a whirlwind!
We also went to Ty and Whitney's wedding on Saturday. It was such a pretty wedding and we had a blast at the reception...including Cooper. He was a dancing machine! Complete opposite of his daddy! He also looked so adorable and besides the bride and groom he was center of attention!! We ended the weekend by cooking hamburgers out on the grill and watching the ACM's. Nice way to end this crazy weekend and start a new week. Which by the way only 3 1/2
more weeks to go!!

New Job....Maybe!!

School went good today but the really good stuff happened after school! I went to Floydada right after school to turn in my application and ended up talking to the Junior High principal. I had sort of an informal interview where he asked if I would be willing to teach whatever because he knew I was a great fit for the school and wanted me there. He then asked me back for a formal interview on Wednesday at 4! So keep your fingers crossed!! Oh! Another reason the principal was liking me was because of who I am kin to! His name is Mac Sherman....his dad is Bill Sherman that lives at the orchard where Donny and DeeAnn got their wood for their floor! Small world.....

Cooper spent the day with Dane....Cooper got his diaper changed twice, at lunch when I came home and then at 4:30!! Dane is really gonna have to start changing his diapers! Cooper had fun with daddy though and then played so hard this afternoon he could barely keep his head up at the table. He was asleep about the time Dane got home from spraying. Dane has been working hard to get everything sprayed and it has been so miserably windy so he can only do it during the evenings when the wind has calmed down. Planting is coming up so he will only get busier!

Sunday Evening, Puppies and New Friends

Cooper made some new friends!!! Yay! Yesterday about 4 Cam called and said they were going to get a puppy and thought we might want to go along for the ride. Of course we said yes because Cooper loves puppies! The people that had the puppies, Chris and Cassie, had two kids, Cutter 5 and Chloe 21 months! They were both so cute and Cooper just loved them. He actually liked them better than the puppies! We all had such a good time watching the kids play and Cord ended up going home with a puppy too! Cooper finally got interested in the puppies on the way home but never would hold one. After we got home, Cooper kept asking about "Loe" and would get the biggest grin when we looked back at the pictures. I can't wait to go play again!!
